Disclaimer The 2000-01
season of CFFL.com Fantasy Hockey is being played strictly for the entertainment and
enjoyment of participants. It is in no way to be construed as gambling of any sort.
Rules Policy: All teams Registered for Play in
the CFFL.com Fantasy Hockey League are required to follow the Rules and Guidelines
detailed in "Rule Book," and other pages of The
CFFL.com web site. Failure to do so may result in removal from the current Season of the
CFFL.com Fantasy Hockey League, and other measures deemed appropriate by the type and
degree of misconduct exhibited. This includes, but is not Limited to, use of inappropriate
language while communicating with CFFL staff or Registrants while at (or communicating
with) The CFFL.com web site; and Reproduction of or Modifications to material published to
the Web Site by CFFL staff and administrators.
Registration Teams are officially Registered
for play in the 2000-01
Season of the CFFL.com Fantasy Hockey League once the following
are received by CFFL Commissioner's Office from new Owners: i) completed Registration
Form; ii) Fees for the number of Franchises applied to Register for. (Owners
selecting the 'Play-For-Free' option need only submit the Registration Form.)
Registration Fee: Fees for the 2000-01
Season are
$29.95 for a single team, $19.95 for additional teams Registered by the same Owner
('Owner' defined by e-mail address used to register Team, and/or communicate with The CFFL
Web Site for CFFL business.) Once Fees are received (or the 'Play For Free' option
selected during Registration) Owners will be assigned a UserID and Password, allowing
access to the remainder of The CFFL web site. (During off-season, the CFFL web site is
open to all visitors.)
Selection of Division: Assignment to Conferences
is done by CFFL. At time of Registration Owners can request placement in a
particular Division, however. New Owners wishing to start a New Division request this on
the Registration Form. The Name to be used for the Division is forwarded to CFFL; this
Division will be added to the List of Divisions in CFFL, and we will offer entry into that
Division to other Teams Registering afterward. (CFFL will accommodate these requests if
the number of Registrants allows; if a Full Division can not be created by the time of
Draft, Teams in partially-filled Divisions will be placed into existing Divisions which
require additional Teams. Teams will be notified of this change in League Structure if it
becomes necessary.)
Structure CFFL.com
Fantasy Hockey League is divided into Divisions of 10 or 12 teams each. Each
Division consists of two Conferences (North and South). Head to Head and Overall
Points competition (where applicable) are specific to the Division your team is
Registered in.
Each team must have the
designated number of players at each specified position on the Starting Line-Up page form.
(Any Transaction which results in a Roster which does not meet this minimum roster
requirement (MRR) will be negated.) The Position of each player is veried by The
CFFL (utilizing Official league records for the 2000-01 Season). If an Owner submits a
Roster with players in positions that do not correspond to their Designated Position, that
Player receives zero (0) points for that week.
Prior to the first game of the Week, each
registered Team is required to submit a Starting Line Up. The Starting Line Up
(SLU) consists of the following Players:
(S.L.U.) 1 Goalie/ 1 Center/ 1 LW
/ 1 RW / 2 Defensemen
Updates to Starting Line Up are due to The CFFL
by the earliest of the following: game time OR 12 PM Monday. Teams that do not submit
Rosters by the deadline will have the previous week's Roster utilized for that week's
competition. Teams that do not fill a position on the SLU on a given week will compete
that week with that Roster position unfilled (assigned zero points).
Only those points earned by players in the
Starting Line Up for that week will be added to the Team's Overall Points and the Points
used to calculate Winner of Head-to-Head competition (where applicable).
Rosters will be posted as soon as processed by
CFFL.
There is no Fee for Transactions of any type.
Scoring. Points are awarded to players on
CFFL Teams corresponding to the performance of the named players in actual Hockey
games that week.
Points for CFFL teams are the accumulated CFFL Points earned by each Player
listed in the Starting Line Up for that week by the CFFL team. These Points are added to
the year-to-date total CFFL points earned by that Team, and are utilized to determine the
Winner of the Head-to-Head competition (where applicable) between CFFL Divisional Teams
scheduled to compete against each other that week. The Head-to-Head Winner is the team that earns a higher Total of CFFL Points that week. Ties: When both teams
competing Head-to-Head during the regular Season accumulate equal Total Points in a given
week, the result is entered into their record as a "Tie." No Ties
are given for Head-to-Head play in Playoff competition; If the Total Points earned by both
teams in a Playoff competition are equal, the Tie-Breaker system is called upon.
First Tie-Breaker is Points of "Center" player for the two teams. If these
points are a Tie as well, the Second Tie-Breaker is utilized-- RW, then LW, then
Defensemen (total) then Goalie Points. Third Tie-Breaker, if necessary, is a Supervised
coin-toss by Commissioner.
In CFFL play, Points are given to Players listed
on the Starting Line Up according to performance in the following Scoring Categories:
Fantasy Points are assigned to Players according to the following chart:

| Stats for the Week are totaled then divided by number of games
played that week, to determine Points-Per- Game Average for that Player. (The |
Averages are rounded to the nearest
Point.) The PPG score is the player's Fantasy Points total for that week. |
An Average per-game Points total is calculated and used as that
Player's contribution to the team's score that week. The Team's weekly score is
calculated as the sum of the individual Fantasy Points scores for each of the five-player
Starting Lineup that week. Season Totals for the team are calculated as the sum of
Weekly Points totals throughout the season
Any Player listed at a position which is not his
Designated Position will be considered a null entry for that week, and will be assigned
(0) Points regardless of actual game performance. (The CFFL Commissioner determines the
Designated Position for each Player before the start of the season. Any discrepancies with
Starting Line submissions will result in the Player being voided. Errors made in
submission of Players for weekly Starting Line Ups (i.e. players slotted into Positions
that are not their Designated Position) will be treated as receiving zero points for that
week's game.
That Owner who fields the team whose Starting
Roster players score the greater total points of the two scheduled for Head-to-Head
competition (where applicable) that week will be designated the Winner that week. Equal
Points in Head-to-Head competition are considered a "Tie" for both teams, and
entered into records as such. Playoffs do not allow for Ties in Head-to-Head competition:
Tie-Breaker system is called upon to determine Winner. (See above.)
Schedule. The 2000-01 Season
begins October 15th and ends March 17th, for NHL Fantasy Hockey; October 1
through April 10th, for Minor Leagues Fantasy Hockey.
Playing Week is defined as games played
by the teams from Monday 12:00 am through Sunday 11:59pm (starting times).
The first (15) weeks of the Season
are considered the Regular Season. These games are utilized to determine the teams
that qualify for Divisional Playoffs. Overall Points continue to be calculated for every
Team throughout the Playoffs. Teams not qualifying for Playoffs compete for Overall Points
honors in Weeks (16) through (20).
PLAYOFFS [Weeks (16) through (20)]
(6) teams in each Division qualify for the playoffs;
in Weeks 16 (Playoff Week 1) the conference winners receive bye weeks, and the
second and third place finisher in each conference face off head-to-head --
winner is overall points total that week;
in Weeks 17 and 18 (Playoff Weeks 2 & 3) the top finisher in each conference
faces the winner of week one in that conference, head-to-head; overall points
for the two weeks decides winner of the conference.
in Week 19 (Playoff Week 4) Conference champions face off, head-to-head; overall
points winner for that week is named Divisional Champion;
Week 20 is inter-divisional play, where Divisional Champions from across the
CFFL face off head-to-head, for the 2000-01 Season Championship.
Overall Points winners and Divisional
winners qualify for Prizes in the 2000-01
CFFL Season.

'Play For Free' Option. New Owners are eligible to Play the
2000-01

Play-for-Free Option requires that the New Owner contact The CFFL regarding the plan to
access this Option. If it is known prior to Registering that the required three (3)
associate members will be Registering in The CFFL, Registration Fees for the first Owner
will be waived. (If the recruited Owners cancel their registration and request refund of
their Registration Fee, the original Owner will be contacted by The CFFL for remittance of
Registration Fee.) If the three (3) additional registrants are recruited after the
recruiting Owner has already Registered, The CFFL will return the Owner's
Registration Fee after the additional members' Registration Fees are processed. (If the
additional Owners cancel their Registration and request Refund, the original Owner will be
contacted by The CFFL for Registration Fees to be returned.)
Related to this Option, those Owners who Register multiple teams in the same
Season are eligible for a Free Team when they Register three (3) teams of their
own. Additional teams are added at the lower rate given to multiple team Registration, and
the fourth team is Registered at no cost. Owners who wish to access this
Option should contact The CFFL if Registering the teams separately. (If Registering at the
same time, CFFL Administration will activate the fourth team automatically.)
League Maintenance Issues.
(Certain items of note concerning everyday operation of The CFFL.)
Non-Participation. Owners who do not participate in the League for
extended periods. Owners who, for whatever reason, do not participate in the League become
a hindrance to smooth operation of the League. To ensure that Owners who are no longer
interested in Playing do not continue to receive Updates, Information, etc. from CFFL, and
time is not invested in maintaining their teams which can better be spent elsewhere in the
CFFL, teams that have become inactive will be removed from The CFFL. Determination of
non-participation is made by the Commissioner, under the following guidelines: Owner has
not updated team for four (4) weeks/games, and no contact has been made by Owner for other
issues concerning their team (e.g. communicating that the team is still inactive, and no
changes in the Roster were felt necessary for four weeks). CFFL wants to ensure
satisfaction of Owners and efficiency in handling transactions, scoring, etc. and the
Non-Participation rules are set up to enable this for teams who are actively
participating.
Language
Use of Profanity and other unacceptable Language in dealings with CFFL
is not tolerated. Any such conduct by visitors to the CFFL Web Site or teams registered
with CFFL will result in immediate dismissal from the League (at Owners' expense if a paid
registrant). Owners are asked to report any problems of this (or other) nature so that
CFFL Administration can address the issue.
Team Names. There are no limitations on the type of name utilized by
CFFL Owners, with exception of the following: i) no names which are offensive to other
Owners or visitors to the CFFL site (Determination by CFFL administrators.); ii) no names
including Names of existing College Football teams (a violation of trademark laws).
System Difficulties In the event of difficulties with the operation
of the CFFL website, necessary corrections will be made as quickly as possible. All
information affected by the system difficulties will be corrected as soon as possible. Any
interference with normal operation of CFFL teams and Owner activities will be rectified as
quickly as possible. In the event that a situation can not be remedied completely, CFFL
will decide how best to address the situation with the Owners. As any participant in
Internet activities will know, problem situations with software or programming
accessibility are subject to random 'mishaps,' and The CFFL administration will endeavor
to ensure that minimal interference with normal operation of the League will be
experienced by owners. We apologize in advance for any interruptions , and assure our
Owners that smooth operation of the CFFL throughout the
Season is the first priority
of CFFL Administration. But, as we all know, sometimes things just get a little screwy, so
we can't guarantee smooth operation throughout the year! We will address issues as they
arise, and remedy them as quickly as we are able.
Refunds Owners who have Registered with The CFFL can cancel their
participation and receive a full refund, before the Draft date.
Rules, Rules, and More Rules...! Now that that's all taken care of, Let's
Start the Season!
