A+ For the Sabres
I
applaud the Buffalo Sabres front office. They have 'stuck
to their guns' and haven't given in to the high-priced demands
of today's athletes. I am speaking, of course, of the
situation facing the Sabres and their (former) captain, Michael
Peca.
I
would love to see number twenty-seven out there with his
patented body checks and his proven team leadership abilities.
But enough is enough. Peca is certainly worthy of a raise,
and even an upper echelon contract. How high into the
ranks of the overly-wealthy sports figures is the question at
hand. The two sides still stand around $900,000 a year
apart. The Sabres offered a deal which they considered fair
market value, but one that Peca said wasn't even worth looking
at. Instead of suiting up for the now-red clad Sabres
(yes, another change if uniform for the boys from Buffalo) he
has decided to play for team Canada in the Spengler Cup later
this month.

Manage a team of six NHL stars each week
through this year's Stanley Cup race
Have a knack for knowing who performs well,
when and where? Just want the chance to get behind the
General Manager's desk and control the action?
All-Star
Fantasy Hockey is for You!
|
|
|
|
You select a Team of the best First Line of NHL Players
-- Goalie, Center, LW and RW, and two Defensemen -- each week
to compete in All-Star Fantasy Hockey with others at the CFFL.com
Fantasy Ice Arena. How your Players fare in
that week's NHL action determines how You do in your Fantasy Hockey competition. They score, you score;
they post a shutout, you post a shutout. (They dog it that week, your team
suffers.)
We make it easy to play, too. You choose
the best line up from all of the Players on active Rosters
across the NHL that week. Take the big name players, who
usually produce, or go after lesser known guys who happen to have
a soft schedule that weak. You decide the strategy, then go
after the players who give you the best chances of cashing in that
week.
It's a 20-week season, with 5 weeks of
Playoffs for the top three finishers in each Conference. Teams
that don't qualify for Playoffs still compete for Overall Points
Championship, too. All 20 weeks of
participation for just $29.95. (Less for additional teams,
and Free if you bring in three other teams!)

Select the Division you want to participate in -- AHL-only, ECHL-only,
IHL-only, or Divisions that utilize players from all three.
Then choose from all of the Players on active Rosters
across those minor league teams that week.
It's a full 20-week season,
with 5 weeks of Playoffs for the top three finishers in each
